Justice Systems offers design-build and competitive-bid integration services – designing only those systems that we install. We provide unique integrated solutions tailored to our customers’ needs. Founded as professional engineers in 1994, we first offered design-build services in 2000.

For owners, Justice Systems’ professional engineering registration in multiple states limits your need to employ another engineer on systems upgrade projects — even major upgrades. For example, we employed an architect and other engineers to expand and remodel the jail’s control room and the systems retrofit on the Spokane County Jail. We also serve as the engineer-of-record on a large percentage of our projects.

Rest assured, as architects and engineers, we fully coordinate with other disciplines while providing a full scope of design services on new projects. Such services include equipment space planning, pathway coordination, BIM conflict resolution, and RCP coordination. On design-build projects like the King County Children and Family Justice Center, we reliably serve two roles: consulting engineer on the design team and systems contractor on the construction team. 

Our designs incorporate ergonomic principles to provide the most efficient and ergonomic solution for control centers. They comply with applicable building codes, often for institution occupancy, while incorporating relevant standards (PREA, ACA, etc.). As high-security integrators, we routinely use programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to integrate door and elevator controls, video surveillance, intercommunications, paging, utility controls, alarm monitoring, and other security functions into a complete control center.
